btw: will add a schematic view how to connect the wires normally, there you can see the mistake I've probably made (hopefully)

I already did. Disconnecting everything. However, I've overseen one thing. The connections are made via the Power Distibution Board and via the Control Board. The last fact might be the logical error: the ESC has to be connected directly to the RX, so it can calibrate the throttle range. This sound versy obvious to me, so I will try tonight.....

Disconnect as much as you can and start testing by adding one device/connection at a time. Maybe a short circuit somewhere? Does the board boot without beeping when you just power the board without any motors connected?

I am planning part 3 tonight. However...... That has to happen in the garage to prevent the little ones to wake up.

Might also be a day later: apparently I can connect my Spektrum DX6i via USB to a flight sim (Phoenix).
Might be a cool way to practice.....

Hmmm, no diagnotics available like in the old days when you could tell by the beeps what was wrong with a computer mainboard?

Anyway, congrats on your first soldering experience! As long as the family didn't wake up from the smell of burned flesh you did well ;-)

Cool, so you can make it robust enough so you can practice and have some fun with it too :-)

Have a look at the added picture: 490 grams so far.
Each motor has 710grams of trust, so there is still some room for weight. For instance the action cam (Contour HD) is only 127 grams.

That looks really great, but also like it's heavy? How much weight can those 4 motors lift? When you look at the parrot model (sorry can't help it to compare), they use ultra light materials, some pieces are made of styrofoam.

This is no surprise, of course you need your own controller ;-)

So, how are you getting on with the build?
